Picture this, it’s Wednesday at 3:15. Your two darlings just clamored into your backseat and are in rapid-fire telling you everything that happened that day. Or perhaps inundating you with questions. What’s for dinner? Are we going to soccer tonight? Can we get ice cream after? Can so-and-so spend the night? You can hardly get a word in edgewise, the excitement is so palpable. Alternatively, your sullen teenager mopes their way to the passenger door and gives you a moody grunt that you’ve come to decipher as a salutation. Close enough.
Whatever the usual routine on the drive home, allow me to present a hypothetical scenario. The kids climb in the car and your oldest pulls out the Wednesday envelope. Or maybe it’s your younger child. What a great opportunity to practice their reading! What’s in the Newsline today? Maybe you start off with the calendar on the left side. What special events are coming up? Is next Wednesday a minimum day? Or perhaps you start with the prayer section and have a special quiet moment as a family praying for those in need. After all, one of the main benefits of our weekly newsletter is connectedness. It’s a way to keep you and your family up to date with school events, and connected to the Corpus community as a whole.
And we make sure you’re kept up to speed! You get the printed Newsline in the Wednesday envelope, a pdf version is posted on the website, and you get an email version as well! There’s so much that goes on around here, it’s helpful to have a central hub for all the activities. For argument’s sake though, what are your thoughts? How do you keep yourself up to speed on the goings-on around here?
