A Reflection on Catholic Schools Week written by: Riley M (7th) and Mrs. Bright

Catholic Schools Week is a celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It is a time where we, as a school community, showcase what makes Catholic schools the best when families are looking to find the right school. It is a recognition of all the elements that make our school such a great place for students, parents, faculty, staff, friends, volunteers, and the entire parish community. This year’s theme for Catholic Schools Week was Faith. Excellence. Service, which are the three pillars of our school’s mission statement.

Catholic Schools Week celebration was a little different this year; but together, we adapted and moved forward in our special celebration. Students were grateful for less classwork on Student Appreciation Day and for their free dress! Staff and Teachers were blessed with delicious treats at school, as well as kind messages from our school families. Grandparents and special friends were celebrated, although virtually, together. Students were encouraged to express their gratitude for their parents on Parents Appreciation Day, along with a “gratitude coupon” and a small treat. Healthcare Workers were celebrated through cards and a special interview from the CCB Club! Keep an eye out for that blog post soon!

Catholic Schools week is about appreciation. Appreciation for the teachers who help us learn every time we go to school. Appreciation for the students who make the school truly a special place. And appreciation for our grandparents and special friends who we love to spend time with. Catholic Schools week is an opportunity to show how much we appreciate and cherish these people. Whether we are online or at school, Catholic Schools week is still a time for all of us to be together in this community.
