  1. A local neighborhood in the city of Alameda that gets together for a wonderful Christmas decorations display! Spectators are encouraged to enjoy the display safely from their cars, slowly driving through the neighborhood. But if you decide to go for a stroll with family, masks or face coverings are required, as well as >6 feet distance from other families. County and CDC orders and curfews followed.
  1. Illuminate SF’s Annual Festival of Lights

  1. This is a great activity to safely enjoy with family from your car, driving through the beautiful city of San Francisco. Walking the artistic light displays are acceptable with proper social distancing and social distancing guidelines. All the lights are eco-friendly, with over 40 installations in 17 SF neighborhoods by 30+ artists. Some even have great effects included with the light display which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
  1. Garden of d’Lights (1552 Bancroft Rd, Walnut Creek) 

November 20th through January 17th 2021, approximately from 530pm through 9pm

  1. This 3.5 acres garden is transformed into a magical colorful botanical sculpture with thousands of lights and lasers. Tickets must be purchased in advance, reservations made, as part of the pandemic social distancing guidelines. Guests are required to arrive within the 30 minute entry window. The entirely outdoor display is expected to take 1 - 1.5 hours to stroll through the 3-acre garden at the guests’ own pace. Masks are required for everyone 3 years and up. 
  1. Fourth Street (Fourth Street, Berkeley) A $1 Virtual Food Drive Donation is encouraged.

November 12th through December 28th, beginning each night at dusk

  1. Dazzling holiday lights for the family to enjoy from Hearst to Virginia, with lots of glowing balls of light dangling from the tree branches. A Santa’s mailbox is right outside the Peets Coffee (1776 Fourth St), where letters with a return address will receive a reply from Santa’s elves! Stores and restaurants are open according local, county, and state guidelines. Masks and social distancing required if you decide to step out of your cars.
  1. Christmas in the Park Drive Through (635 Phelan Ave, San Jose) 

November 27th through January 3rd, 2021, approximately dusk to 10pm

Tickets range from $10 - $40, depending on time

  1. This is a large event where you can see all the lights from the relaxation from your car, it has amazing lights that are designed by local people. The wait time to enter can be a little longer than many would want to wait, but the beautiful and fun display may be worth the wait!
  1. Holiday Lights (Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds: 2601 East Lake Ave, Watsonville) 

Thanksgiving through Christmas weekend, closed on Christmas day. From 530pm to 9pm.

Tickets range from $15 - $35, depending on time

  1. This is a great way to get out of your house and see some great and beautiful lights. If you want to see this beautiful light design, they have great displays, from Santa and his elves, to some reindeers and friendly snowmen. Stay in your warm car and drive through this holiday experience! Make sure to check the website for radio tuning in information to enjoy the holiday soundtrack with the display.
