Dear Parents,

Wow! Time is flying by! It was so nice to meet with all of you during parent teacher conferences. The students have been stepping up and demonstrating responsibility. The Student Council have been complimented by so many parents and teachers on how well they did on the Halloween Carnival. Our younger students commented on this year’s Haunted House as “the scariest ever!” I appreciate all of the student’s hard word. Everyone pitched in and made it happen.
Our focus in Religion has been on healthy relationships. Using Inspiration, we have brainstormed specific ways we can create healthy relationships with God, family members, friends and our community. We have also discussed the ways in which we balance important relationships with our busy and increasingly independent lives. By looking at the Trinity and our relationships, many students made the connection of many parts united as one.
Science has been lively. We have focused on changes in matter from solid to liquid to gas. Science Fair is approaching quickly and we’ve taken time to peruse through the science text for ideas that spark an interest. I am urging students to find a use for the scientific method in their everyday lives. As an example of how one could use the scientific method to investigate a personal interest, we did an art project. In the art project we melted crayons with direct and indirect heat. We recorded observations. Finally we came to a conclusion to our question and communicated the results. The process was fascinating and the art amazing!
Thank you to all of the parents who have volunteered for our upcoming fieldtrips!!! I really appreciate all of your help, as I know you all have busy lives.  The following are the current drivers:
