Dear Parents,

In eighth grade we have began to look at stories of the Bible and how they strengthen our faith. We have spent time reflecting on our own lives, and in sharing our stories with the class; have hoped to strengthen the faith of our classmates. St. Bernadette has been chosen to be represented by eighth grade in the Liturgy of the Saints next Wednesday, October 29th. Her story is one of great courage and faith. She was only fourteen when Mother Mary visited her in eighteen different visions. I would like to welcome you to the Mass. It will begin at 10:30 am. Laura Knox will be representing St. Bernadette, and Alec Bradbury will be doing a reading written by Elizabeth Renner.
This past Wednesday we were visited by Saint Joseph Notre Dame. A senior and sophomore student shared information concerning the courses and activities offered at St. Joe’s. We have started our High School Research Project. It will include the gathering of information pertinent to the application process. On Thursday, all of the eighth grade girls will be visiting Holy Names High School. This campus visit is scheduled from 12:15 to 2:00 pm. Holy Names has offered transportation to and from the high school so no drivers are need, but we will need two chaperones. If any more parents would like to attend, they are welcome to meet us at Holy Names for the tour. The girls are excited to take the trip.
The Halloween Dance was a blast! The Class Council did an outstanding job preparing and planning the dance. The kids were wonderful with clean up in the gym. We are looking forward to the Halloween Carnival and Haunted House next Friday. I appreciate all of the parents who have volunteered for these events. Thank you! Thank you also the eighth grade parents who provided lunch to the faculty on Monday. It was delicious! Also in the news, Laura Accinelli and Caroline Van Remortel have been working hard to rev-up the student participation in this year’s Crab Feed auction items. We are all looking forward to getting started on the creative process.
It was great to see everyone at Walk-A-Thon/Sport-A-Thon. Thank you to all the students who soaked me in the dunk tank! Brrrrrrrrrr! It was cold!

Wishing you a happy and healthy weekend,

Karrie Jackson
